Capital letters

We capitalise the first word of the sentence, as well as proper nouns and names.

We only capitalise these words when they are specific to a named person:

  • Joe Bloggs, Website Editor
  • The editor, the website editor
  • Contact the waste management team

We will always use a capital H for Hubs.

We do not capitalise these common words and phrases:

  • council tax
  • email
  • disabled
  • strategy, policy, plan
  • mental health
  • additional learning needs
  • libraries
  • seasons, for example, spring, summer, autumn, and winter
