Colours

Cardiff.gov uses a consistent colour scheme throughout based on the corporate pallete.

Some shades may differ from the graphic design guidelines so that they are accessible for screens.

How to use this component

Teal colours

 

Light teal: #00525f

Used for button colours, headings, links and callout boxes.

 

Teal hover: #077181

Used for button and link hover state colours.

 

Dark teal: #01383f

Used for background colours. (This is rarely used).

 

Notice colour: #e8ebf1

Used for notice boxes and important information. Used with a 1px solid border #cbd6dc

 

 

Text colour

Main content text should always be black on a white background.

black: #000000

 

 

Silver

Silver is used on the landing page link backgrounds and also on see also sections.

Silver can also be used when sectioning out areas on a white background. This should be used with a 1px solid border: #d8d8d8

Silver: #f6f6f6

 

Orange

Orange is used for error messages. We use white text on an orange background. Or where not possible simply the orange text on a white background.
